Some Anime Like Mirrai Nikki

This anime is quite a mind blowing series that is comparable to Death Note. However, it does not beat Death Note though. Even so, it is still a good alternative to watch. Below are 6 anime that I would recommend you if you enjoyed Mirrai Nikki(Future Diary).

Death Note

Death Note

Death Note definitely tops this list. This is a very popular anime and if you haven't watched it already, you should! Light Yagami is the main character of the story and he finds a notebook dropped by a careless shinigami called Ryuk. This special note book can kill anyone if the person writes their name and know their face. Upon knowing that, Light decides to abuse the power and create his own little version of justice. He starts killing criminals that he deems that is not useful to the world. Soon enough, this sparked the suspicion of a smart but erratic detective named L, who is tasked to find out who is behind all this chaos of unnecessary killing.

Deadman Wonderland

This anime is quite bloody. The main character of the story is Ganta Igarashi. He is a survivor of an earthquake that destroyed Japan 10 years ago. That terrible earthquake sunk three quarters of Tokyo. The interesting part is that Ganta does not recall the events of the earthquake. He lives his life normally until he met a mysterious guy known as "Red Man". As Ganta was in class, Red Man massacred his entire class, put a crystal shard in his chest and left, leaving him as the only survivor of the brutal massacre. As a result, he is a suspect of the whole tragic incident and later on gets death sentenced. He gets sent to "Deadman Wonderland". Ganta is determined to get to the bottom of his unfair trial and sets off to find this "Red Man".

Ergo Proxy

In a land where humans and robots known as androids(AutoReivs) co-exist and live together, times of peace were taken for granted until a terrible incident has occurred. A group of androids started to murder people as they got infested by a terrible virus. This definitely caused disharmony in the city. As a result of the incident, the main character Re-l Mayer and her partner Iggy were sent on a task to find out what has caused the incident to happen. She eventually finds out that an immigrant is somewhat connected to the massacre and she needs to locate this person for more valuable information.

Elfen Lied

Elfen Lied

Do not be fooled by that picture I have on there. This anime is extremely bloody and messed up at times. In Elfen Lied, humans have researched and created a new species known as the Diclonius. These species are quite like humans but they are distinguishable with their pointy ears. They also have invisible arms known as "vectors" that could slice things easily. A young girl named Lucy escapes from one of the research facilities and is found by 2 civilians. As the special forces start chasing after Lucy to get her back to where she belonged, the story of a bloody path begins...

Steins;Gate

Steins;Gate

This anime incorporates a little bit of past and present, making it a little similar to Mirai Nikki. You follow the story of Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed mad scientist. He has boldly stated that "SERN", a science organization is trying to change the world for their own selfish purposes. Together with his friend Itaru Hashida, they created a device that could send messages to the past. With that, they could change the messages from the past to alter the "future". However, doing that has some consequences that they will have to face as SERN begins to cover up their act...
